Banbridge: arrest after reports of stabbing

Police have appealed for information into reports of a stabbing in Banbridge last night (Tuesday).

A PSNI spokesperson said the incident happened around 6:15 in the Brookfield Meadow area of the Co Down town.

"Officers attended the scene, however nobody presented with injuries consistent with being stabbed. A man and a woman received minor injuries, consistent with being assaulted," the spokesperson added.

A 33-year-old man was found with a knife and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including possession of a blade or point in a public place. He remains in police custody at this time.
