Police searching for missing man confirm body discovery

Police searching for missing Alan Whiteside said on Monday afternoon a body has been located.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "The body of a man was located in a coastline area of Lough Neagh on Sunday afternoon (February 18th).

"This is being treated as a sudden death and there are no further details."

Alan Whiteside was reportedly last seen around 9pm at Maddens Bar in Antrim's High Street on December 17th.

Specialist teams had been carrying out searches in the area, including in Lough Neagh.
