Police investigate as shots fired at County Down home

An attempted murder investigation has been launched after shotgun pellets were fired into a County Down house last night.

A woman was struck on her head and back when a number of pellets were fired at a house in Ballygowan around 11 o'clock.

The woman - in her 60s - has been treated in hospital - whilst a man who was in the house was uninjured.

Police say they believe a male suspect made off in a white Transit-style van.
