Other key races in NI are also cancelled
Last updated 10th Feb 2023
The North West 200 - one of the world's top racing events - has been cancelled this year.
The showpiece spectacle on the north coast attracts tens of thousands of fans every year.
But after an emergency meeting of the Motor Cycle Union of Ireland (Ulster Centre) last night (Thursday) it is understood a decision was taken due to soaring public Liability insurance costs.
A number of other key races have also been cancelled including the Ulster Grand Prix, Tandragee 100 and Cookstown 100.
