Stephen Nolan says he is deeply sorry over a photograph he sent to a "long term friend and peer outside of work".

He hasn't specified what that is - but it follows claims in the Irish News that he sent a sexually explicit image of a public figure to other members of BBC staff in 2016.

Speaking his Radio Ulster show this morning - the presenter said he has not been ignoring the story - and that he is respecting BBC processes.

Meanwhile - BBC News NI says it has not been able to independently verify the claims published by the newspaper.
