The captain of Monaghan's under-20 Gaelic football team died in a car crash just hours after a huge win for his county.

19-year-old Brendan Óg Duffy was involved in a crash as he drove home from an Ulster semi-final win over Donegal.

It happened in County Monaghan, on the M2 close to Clontibret just before half past 11 last night.

His club, Monaghan Harps, has postponed all club activity.
