Molly, a young springer spaniel dog, went missing for 48 hours during Storm Franklin earlier this week.
She was walking alongside her owner Ricky Lyle on Slieve Meelmore in the Mourne Mountains on Sunday.
At around 3.30pm as they were ascending the top, she suddenly disappeared.
Having searched himself for hours during the blistering weather, Ricky made an appeal on social media for help. The post on Facebook soon went viral, with 6.9K shares.
The post read: "I was out today with my springer I lost her at the top of Meelmore around 15.30.
"She is wearing the same coat as in the photos. Her name is Molly."
Within hours a search operation began, but with yellow weather warnings for rain and snow issued, Ricky was losing hope.
After 48 hours, despite spending two nights in freezing conditions, Molly was eventually found safe and well by park ranger Aaron Caldwell.
Molly has since been reunited with Ricky and is home recovering. Nothing a little bit of rest, cosy blankets and plenty of treats won't fix.
Ricky has assured everyone, she'll be back trekking the Mourne Mountains in no time.
