Man injured in south Belfast burglary

The PSNI are appealing for information

A man has been injured in an aggravated burglary in south Belfast.

At around a quarter to three yesterday, a number of masked men entered the property in the McAuley Street area through a back door.

The householder suffered a cut to the head with a bladed object.

The suspects made off with money and prescription medicine.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “This was a terrifying experience for the occupant of the property who required medical treatment for his injuries.

"Our investigation is now underway to establish what happened, who was involved and a motive.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, and saw anything suspicious, to call detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1477 of 28/10/22.
