A MAN has been issued with a Community resolution notice over an incident in South Belfast over the Twelfth.

The 29-year old attended an interview voluntarily where he got the notice about his behaviour as well as future conduct.

A PSNI statement on Friday evening said: "A 29-year-old man attended voluntarily for interview following an incident at the Agincourt Avenue area of South Belfast on Tuesday 12th July.

"He was issued with a Community resolution notice for criminal damage."

The PSNI often use a Community resolution notice to deal with what is deemed to be low-level offending.

The Police added: "Community Resolution seeks to prevent re-offending by encouraging the offender to think about their behaviour so it is most appropriate for offenders who have little or no previous relevant offending history."

Community Resolution was introduced in Northern Ireland in 2016.

Trouble broke out in South Belfast on after a video showed a bin being thrown at an Orange Order parade as it passed through the Holylands area.
