Anyone travelling from Northern Ireland between 20th July and 25th July 2021 will now be able to access a downloadable certificate and QR code which offers security against fraud.

This will allow people to travel before the official COVID-19 vaccine certification comes into place later in July.

Anyone travelling after 25th July is advised to wait on the launch of the app which will be available next week.

Hard copies of certificates can still be requested via telephone on 0300 200 7814 from Tuesday 20th July, however this process can take up to 10 days and you should factor this into your travel plans.

The Department of Health announced a number of changes to the colour coded travel lists on Thursday. The Balearic Islands and British Virgin Islands moved to amber, however popular holiday destination Croatia has now switched to the green watchlist.

It's important travellers still adhere to the testing and isolation requirements (if appropriate) on their return to Northern Ireland. For a full list of government travel updates - CLICK HERE
