Two taken to hospital following fire at Obel Tower in Belfast
The casualties suffered smoke inhalation
Two people have been taken to hospital following a fire at the Obel Tower in Belfast city centre.
The high-rise apartment complex, which is Northern Ireland’s tallest residential building, is located close to the Big Fish, at Donegall Quay.
Completed in 2011, the Obel Tower includes 233 apartments and office accommodation.
Reports of a blaze were made early this morning.
A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Spokesperson said “NIFRS were called to reports of a fire in the Obel 62, Obel Tower, Donegall Quay, Belfast at 6.20 am on Friday 25th November 2022.”
“6 Fire appliances, an Aerial Appliance and a Command Support Unit, 42 Firefighters and 5 Officers were in attendance. Fire Service assisted 2 casualties to safety. They were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.”
