Dublin commuters get a festive treat with their Christmas jumper
By Tara McLaughlin
This is one story sure to spread some festive cheer, even to the grumpiest grinch. The Luas tram in Dublin is offering passengers a chance to travel for free this Sunday, simply by donning a Christmas jumper.
Dublin commuters will be treated to a free journey in return for their efforts as part of a campaign to spread festive cheer around the city. The public just show their jumpers to the ticket inspector and hey presto they get a free trip.
The free travel day comes as Dublin prepare to switch on their Christmas lights on O'Connell Street and attempt to break the world record for the most Christmas jumpers in the same place at the one time.
It's thought to have been funded by a collective group of local businesses 'Dublin at Christmas' and the tram operator.
Now for the big question, could Belfast do the same?
