Northern Ireland could be a step closer to the restoration of Stormont.

This follows what Downtown Radio & Cool FM understands as a crunch meeting taking place between DUP leader, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson and his party officers.

But sources have told our Political Reporter JAMES GOULD that no decision would be taken today (Friday).

We understand, though, that things are moving quickly but it remains to be seen whether Sir Jeffrey moves with the support of all party officers or with just some of them.

If he does the latter, he could risk a split within the party.

Meanwhile, TUV leader Jim Allister said "it is clear no change of substance" has been made to "union dismantling Protocol."

And UUP Doug Beattie also had his say.
