PSNI Inspector James Murphy said: “A number of cars were damaged when they were hit by youths throwing stones and bricks from the Marrowbone Park area.

"Fortunately, no-one was injured in any of the incidents.

“Our advice to young people is: don’t get involved in anti-social behaviour like this and keep yourself safe.

“Our advice to parents is to find out what your kids are doing, where they are, who they are with and what their plans are.

“We will be increasing police patrols in the area in the coming days and will have resources available to deal with any situation that arises.

"Anyone found breaking the law will be dealt with robustly."
