Highlights from the 2024 Moy Park Belfast City Marathon

Thousands of participants took part in today's Moy Park Belfast City Marathon, running the challenging 26.2 mile route that covers north, south, east & west of the city.
Cool FM Breakfast's Pete Snodden and Rebecca McKinney were there at the starting line this morning at Stormont, getting the crowd pumped up before the race.
Meanwhile Downtown's Kirstie McMurray and Neal McClelland were waiting at the finish line at Ormeau Park, as runners completed the race.
Matthew Kiplimo Kemboi was first to cross the line, in a phenomenal 2 hours 14 minutes.
Taking the women's title, Beatrice Jepkemei won in 2 hours 35 minutes, beating the course record.
Gladys Ganiel was the first female finisher from Northern Ireland in todays event, finishing the 26.2 miles in around 2 hours 20 minutes.
Speaking exclusively to CoolFM/Downtown she said: "The atmosphere is always good, you know. When you're running in your home town there is loads of people, it's like every other person is calling your name, so that's really encouraging. I'm 47 now but I've been an elite athlete now for a long time and ofcourse my club is North Belfast Harriers, you always want to do well for them."
She gave advice for anyone who has not done a marathon before, saying: "It is a challenge, it is a worthy challenge, and if you put the work in, you can do it!"
