19 year old arrested after robbery in Newtownards

He was arrested shortly after 11pm on Wednesday night, January 10, in connection with a robbery at a commercial premises in the Mill Street area.

The 19 year old was arrested by police on Wednesday 10th January at around 11pm.

It follows the robbery at a commercial premises earlier in the evening, at around 6.30pm.

Detective Constable Hughes said: “The arrest was in connection with a robbery at a commercial premises in the Mill Street area of the town earlier in the evening at around 6.30pm.

“The man was released on police bail early this morning, Thursday January 10, pending further enquiries.

“We would appeal to anyone witnessed suspicious activity before or after this incident, or who may have any information, to contact detectives in Bangor on 101 quoting reference 2018 of 10/1/18.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
