More than 100 patients were waiting to be seen at the Ulster Hospital last night as health service pressures across Northern Ireland continue.
The St John Ambulance service in Bangor said patients were queued in the corridors of the hospital yesterday evening.
They have asked people to consider their decision before coming to the emergency department.
In a post on social media - the service said "The Emergency Department tonight at the Ulster Hospital is under immense pressure with excess of 100 patients waiting to be seen.
"Patients brought in by ambulance are queued down one corridor and up another. Please choose well before deciding to come to the ED or ringing an ambulance - is it really a life-threatening emergency?"
