Popular donut franchise Krispy Kreme is in the planning stages of opening a Belfast store here in Northern Ireland.

Donut fans will be able to get their hands on Krispy Kreme's iconic original glaze plus lots more flavours soon.

Just last year the coffee/sweet treat brand announced it would be expanding its footprint across Ireland.

Cool FM and Downtown reached out to the team at Krispy Kreme to find out more.

The team quickly replied with the following statement: "We can’t wait to bring the joy of Krispy Kreme to Northern Ireland and will update our fans when we can share more news.

"We are also bringing joy to more of Ireland over the coming months, watch out for more details coming soon. Our next Krispy Kreme shop opening will be at Carrickmines on the 31st January."

Krispy Kreme opened its first outlet in Ireland in Dublin in 2018.

Guilt Trip recently launched their ninth store across the UK, so you know these are going to be epic! With a distinct New York vibe, their inventive recipes and trendy flavours continue to sell out each day. They've got four stores in NI (East Belfast, Lisburn Road, Holywood and Portstewart) including a Guilt Trip Truck on Apollo Road.

Taboo Donuts

This artisan range of donuts will leave your head spinning - from the Orange Bow Tie to the Peanut Butter & Jelly. These donuts are so good, they're Taboo! With special deals and offers available, you can sample a few different flavours and even throw in a coffee.

Oh Donuts

Gourmet donuts & delicious coffee at your fingertips. With a handy store in Belfast's city centre, another in Whiteabbey and an Oh! Go! in Sprucefield, you'll be spoilt for choice. Their vegan menu is 👌btw

Tim Hortons

This popular Canadian coffee and doughnut chain has firmly rooted itself in Northern Ireland. With over five stores across the country, and two more on the way, you won't have to travel too far for something tasty. If you haven't tried their signature donuts before, why not purchase a Timbits box and sample a variety of yummy donut holes. The fact their Coleraine, Connswater, Newtownabbey and Cookstown stores are drive-thru just makes it oh-so sweeter.
