NI Drag Queen Blu Hydrangea WINS first ever Drag Race UK vs the World series
Oh mummy! 👏
Nine international world-renowned Drag Race queens returned to Mama Ru’s glorious stage for Drag Race UK Vs The World, battling it out for the Queen of the World crown.
Northern Ireland's very own Blu Hydrangea aka Joshua Cargill from Hillsborough, took part, representing the UK. Blu first rocked the runway in the first series of Drag Race UK back in 2019, finishing fifth overall.
Last night, four finalists - Jujubee (USA), Blu Hydrangea (UK), Mo Heart (US) and Baga Chipz (UK) - went up against each other in the ultimate lip sync smackdown.
Blu and Jujubee went heel to heel performing to Duran Duran’s The Reflex, with Blu coming out on top. Then came another tough lip sync between Mo and Blu to Kylie Minogue’s Supernova.
But only won could win and be crowned "queen of the mother-tucking world."
When Ru announced that Blu was the winner, with sceptre in hand, she delightedly exclaimed "Northern Ireland, I’m taking the crown home, home, home."

After the show late last night, Blu shared editorial shots from her last look, with an emotional caption reading: "✨🌸HYDRANGEA’S IN THE GAME NOW🌸✨ I have no words… just thank you 💙"
Fans of the show and Blu gathered to watch the final in Belfast Maverick Bar, with some handy blue confetti cannons, just in case.
Green Party councillor Mal O’Hara posted a video from the bar last night. “Oh mummy! @BluHydrangea just won UK Drag Race versus the World. Showing the sheer drag talent in this city. So fricking proud.”
