Hunter Hayes is a name that’s new on my radar. Obviously I have heard this name and his songs before but after his outstanding performance at Country 2 Country, Hunter Hayes is now a name that commands my respect, as a singer, as an incredible guitar player and as someone who has a bright future in country music.

Yesterday’s Song was released last year as a lead single of Hayes’ up and coming fourth studio album, written by Hunter Hayes, Barry Dean and Martin Johnson. The video (directed by Ryan Hamblin) for this one just went online yesterday and boy does it show where Hunter has come from and where he’s heading! It shows us the past stages of Hayes’ career to date and ends with a climax leading to the unknown, a new chapter yet to be written.

In a recent interview with CMT’s Samantha Stephens Hayes was quoted as saying “I’ve been experimenting with new sounds and stretching myself creatively more than ever before and just embracing life, which I think you can really hear in these songs.”

The song and the video both encourage an excitement as we await the release of this new album expected later this year.

At the young age of 25, Hayes can play over 30 instruments and is really conquering the country music scene. His self-titled debut album reached number seven in the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top Country Albums. His best single off that album was “Wanted” and has sold over 3.5 million copies, in turn making Hayes the youngest male ever to top the Billboard Hot Country Songs…watch this space!
