It’s no secret that Post Malone is one of the biggest artists in the music industry right now. The American rapper and singer/songwriter wowed fans when he shared his introduction to music came started with deep country roots.

His legal name is in fact Austin...so it's fair to say his heart will always long for Texas.

Performing at Matthew and Camila McConaughey’s ‘We’re Texas’ virtual concert earlier on Monday evening (March 22) Post Malone certainly shook things up. The event raised funds for fellow Texans impacted by February’s winter storms.

He covered some of country’s biggest hits – Sturgill Simpson’s ‘You Can Have The Crown’ and Brad Paisley’s ‘I’m Gonna Miss Her.’

Fans around the world recognise Post’s unique and raspy sound, but when he took to the mic this week his country charm and soul poured out. If you dig a little deeper, it’s pretty obvious that country music has played a huge part in his life, for quite some time.

Carrie Underwood isn’t just a huge fan...

She’s a close friend who gets free tickets to his shows and hangs out with his family too apparently.

Another friend to the Texan native is Billy Strings, who shared this snap of the pair last November.

Strings even performed a bluegrass cover of Post Malone’s hit ‘Circles.

Back in 2018 he performed ‘A Thousand Miles From Nowhere’ on Dwight Yoakam's SiriusXM radio show

Here the artists can be seen strumming and harmonising to the tune, which was originally released on Yoakam’s 1993 album This Time.

Toby Keith is another fan/friend

Post joined Toby Keith after his show one evening, and recorded this little snippet from a jamming session

Post rocked a Tim McGraw shirt on stage in Nashville. He’s also been known to order custom Lucchese Boots too

We’ve got a feeling there might be a Post Malone/country collab on the way very soon! Rumours suggest Blake Shelton or perhaps Toby Keith might be up for it, but who do you think it might be?
