Dolly Parton announces 'Let It Be' is the next single from her 'Rockstar' album
It features Paul McCartney along with other iconic singers
Shortly after Dolly Parton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame she announced she would be releasing her first rock album, titled 'Rockstar'. Now after revealing the tracklist to feature many famous people, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the album later this year.
Now, ahead of the album's release, Dolly has announced that she will be sharing her cover of The Beatles classic 'Let It Be'.
The singer took to Instagram to share a photo of herself writing: 'My new ‘Rockstar’ single, “Let It Be” is dropping this Friday! This song is really special to me because I’m joined by @paulmccartney who wrote the song, along with @ringostarrmusic, @mrpeterframpton and @mickfleetwoodofficial. Make sure to sign-up for my newsletter to be the first to hear an exclusive clip of the song!' (sic)
As fans will know, 'Let It Be' is the name of the 1970 song by The Beatles, it was written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon and reached Number 2 in the UK.
Dolly's version of 'Let It Be' featuring Paul McCartney along with Ringo Starr, Peter Framton and Mick Fleetwood, and follows 'We Are the Champions'/'We Will Rock You' and 'World On Fire', which Dolly has already released from her upcoming album.
Also featured on 'Rockstar' are some very famous names, including Elton John and Bon Jovi legend Richie Sambora.
When is 'Let It Be' out?
'Let It Be' will be released on Friday 18th August.
