Harry Potter cast rumoured to celebrate 20 year reunion with TV special

It’s hard to believe that two decades ago the magical world of Harry Potter first hit the big screen!

Think back to the first time you heard words like muggle and quidditch – the series is still just as enchanting today as it was back in 2001.

And if the rumours are true, we’ve got something special to look forward to very soon.

It’s been reported that the cast of the films have been approached—including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint – to film a reunion special looking back at their journey through Hogwarts,

Filming is believed to take place at Warner Brothers Studios in London. If you’ve been to the Studio Tour, you’ll know most of the iconic sets are already built.

The Great Hall, Platform 9 ¾, Diagon Alley and even the Forbidden Forest are all available for fans to explore.

The first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was released November 16th 2001. According to Forbes, the film made an astronomical $974.71 million worldwide.

The stars, now in their thirties, grew up on set and remain close today.

A source told The Sun that the proposed show is "shrouded in secrecy" as bosses attempt to "lock in talent".

There’s no better time to get stuck into the Harry Potter boxset that coming up to Christmas. We’d love to see a reunion, come on guys!

Rupert had only starred in school plays when he was cast as Harry Potter's best friend Ron Weasley.

Rupert has starred in a number of films and TV shows since, with the actor playing the role of Jullian Pearce in TV show Servant, as well as appearing in Snatch, the ABC murders and Sick Note. He will appear in horror film Knock at the Cabin in 2023.


In 2011, Rupert also appeared in Ed Sheeran's 'Lego House' music video!

Tom Felton

Tom was cast as Harry's school nemesis Draco Malfoy. He had already starred in a number of commercials and the film 'The Borrowers'.

Tom has appeared in a number of high-profile movies since, including Rise of the Planet of the Apes, In Secret and The Forgotten Battle.


He's also shown off his singing voice, and has posted a number of videos to Instagram of him playing guitar.

Emma Watson

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 2001 was Emma's debut screen performance.

Emma has starred in a number of films and took on the role of Belle in the live-action version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast in 2017. She has since appeared in Little Women and The Circle.


She is also a huge advocate for women's rights and was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2015.

Matthew Lewis starred as Neville Longbottom, who ended up being one of heroes of the story.

Since leaving Harry Potter, Matthew has appearing in a number of TV shows including 2016 series Happy Valley.
