Keith Urban Strikes Gold at Emmy Awards

Nicole Kidman picked up an Emmy last night for her part in the hit show ‘Big Little Lies’. She played ‘Celeste’, a well liked woman who is married to a rich and successful but overpowering husband. She took to the stage, escorted by her husband, Keith Urban, at the 69th Emmy Awards after being named lead actress in a limited series or movie. When she got there, she had a lot of thanking to do, then she got to Urban..

“I also am a mother and a wife. I have two little girls Sunny and Faith. And my darling Keith, who I asked to help me pursue this artistic path,” she said as she started to tear up. “And they had to sacrifice so much. So this is yours. I want my little girls to put this on their shelf and look at it and go, ‘Every time my momma didn’t put me to bed, it’s because of this. I got something.'”

Earlier this year Urban picked up an amazing four CMT Music Awards at a ceremony in Nashville. He, like his wife, also had a big plate of thanks to dish out;

“I wanna say a massive thanks to my wife Nicole Mary (Kidman), because you have no idea how much of what I do she is involved in. Every little piece of it. And especially the videos. She hates me saying this, but I want it to be said, because she helps me so much making these videos what they are,” he said, adding, “Baby girl, I love you.”

It’s fair to say that one of Country Music’s highest profile couples still have that spark and a love for each other that’s unconditional.

Back in 2006 Urban attended a rehabilitation clinic for drug and alcohol addiction that has haunted him since the 90s. Back in 2014 at an interview for ‘The Fix’ he told McCarton Ackerman ‘I was very, very blessed to have Nic (Nicole) call an intervention on me.’

As a couple, Keith and Nicole have stood the test of time and long may it continue.
