During Bring a Pound to Work Day, Cash for Kids encourage all kinds of workplaces, businesses and schools to sign up to take part and help us make sure no child's call to ChildLine goes unanswered. Many workplaces and schools organise easy fundraisers on the day like wearing pyjamas to work for £1, bun sales, raffles and dress-down days.

ChildLine is a 24-hour, free helpline for children and young people, and is completely confidential. Children and young people contact ChildLine about a range of issues, including:

• Family Relationships

• Bullying

• Suicide

• Physical Abuse

• Sexual Abuse

• Facts of Life

ChildLine launched its online counselling service in 2009, giving children and young people another option to contact ChildLine in confidence. Last year the volunteers in the ChildLine Northern Ireland bases (Belfast and Foyle) carried out over 23,000 counselling interactions with children and young people from all over the UK in need of help and support.

In 2010/11 the ChildLine website received almost 1 million hits – this equates to about 2,600 visitors per day.

Cash for Kids uses Bring a Pound to Work day to encourage ALL businesses, workplaces and schools across Northern Ireland to join in, to make sure no child’s call for help goes unanswered.
