Midlands couple Richella and Ben thought they had lost the holiday of their dreams after booking flights from the wrong airport, however a holiday company have come to their aid.

In a statement Virgin Holidays said, "“It was heart-breaking to hear that Richella and Ben couldn’t go on their dream holiday to Las Vegas because of a silly booking mix-up.

"We couldn’t stand by and not do anything".

Virgin Holidays will be providing the couple, who wanted to celebrate Ben's 30th in the casino capital, with free return economy flights from Manchester to Las Vegas with hotel accommodation for five nights.

The statement went on to say, "our only bit of advice would be to enjoy a little flutter at a Vegas blackjack table, now that their run of bad luck has ended."

When Richella heard the news she told the Birmingham Mail, "it’s so lovely of Virgin to do this.

"I’m a bit overwhelmed but I’m so grateful to Virgin and to the Birmingham Mail."

Ben, a senior residential care worker for children said he was "over the moon" and described the offer as "awesome".

The couple have received a lot of publicity after the news broke earlier this week, with messages coming from all over the world, also receiving a tweet from someone in Birmingham Alabama wanting to provide them with a free flight from Birmingham UK.

“We didn’t expect the publicity," Ben said, "we have had some horrible comments, but I’ve just laughed them off".
