9 things you'll only understand if you have a birthday in October
It is your birthday this month?
Are you born in October? Some of these things you'll only understand if you celebrate your birthday around now.
1. New academic year
Inviting friends you've only known for a couple of weeks to a birthday party can be a bit awkward at times.
2. Half term holidays
If your birthday happens to fall in between the half term weeks it will mean more expensive birthday get aways and busy roads. Maybe choose a mid-week break then?
3. Oldest in your year
You will be one of the oldest in your school year and a lot of people, both kids and teachers won't let you forget that! You should know better you know!
4. Weather
An October birthday means an inside party with the cold weather and likelihood of rain.
5. Halloween birthday parties
While Halloween is fun if your birthday is at the end of October you'll probably find that your birthday parties have an unintentional Halloween theme.
6. October is often a month to give up alcohol
While it's a brilliant to raise money for charity and to give up alcohol, it's your birthday month so it's usually a bit difficult. Perhaps you could do it in January instead?
7. Christmas stuff in the shops already
Does Christmas really start in October? Apparently it does for many shops, but you want to birthday presents not Christmas presents.
8. So many people have their birthday in October
Who knew so many people could be born in one month? You have to plan your birthday celebrations weeks in advance because so many other people have their birthdays around now.
9. Oktoberfest
While it's great to celebrate the month you were born in, if you don't like beer then it's a bit of a pain.
