The Downton Abbey inspired baby names rising and falling in popularity
Lots of unusual names have increased in popularity!

With the release of Downton Abbey: A New Era hitting cinemas on Friday 29th April, Downton fever is certainly in the air!
Following six massive series and a further two movies, it's no surprise many parents have used the show's famous characters as baby name inspiration.
In new research conducted and released by Slingo, data from ONS has shown the rise and fall of certain baby names which were inspired from the show, between the year of release in 2010, until 2020.
The research shows names such as Tom, Mary, Charles, and Anna have all falling in the rankings since 2010, whilst more unusual names such as Sybil, Marigold and Bertie have all gained popularity.

After being delayed a number of times, fans will be delighted to know that Downton Abbey: A New Era will finally hit cinemas on Friday 29th April.
The plot of A New Era follows the Crawleys as they visit the South of France (via a boat) to find out the reasons why the Dowager Countess has been gifted a villa. The film brings back all of the beloved cast that were present in the first Downton film, including Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern and Dame Maggie Smith.
