Man charged with grievous bodily harm following stabbing in Radcliffe
Daudi Bakari will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court
Greater Manchester Police have charged an 18-year-old with grievous bodily harm following a stabbing in Radcliffe.
Officers confirmed on Saturday (October 26th) that they had charged Daudi Bakari from Grange Grove in Whitefield with both grievous bodily harm with intent and and possession of offensive weapon in a public place.
He was charged in connection with the stabbing of a 20-year-old man in the St. John's Court area of Radcliffe on Thursday afternoon (October 24th).
The victim had been brought to hospital by a member of the public after suffering a serious wound. He currently remains in hospital in a stable condition, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers have been working on the premise the attack had been targeted and had initially arrested an 18-year-old on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police have now confirmed that there is no wider threat to the public following the charge.
Bakari has now been remanded in police custody and will appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Monday (October 28th).
