Buckingham Palace says the Queen has 'regretfully' decided not to attend the Cop26 climate conference in Glasgow.
Her Majesty had been due to attend an evening reception there on Monday.
The 95-year-old monarch will now deliver a recorded address instead.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: "Following advice to rest, The Queen has been undertaking light duties at Windsor Castle.
"Her Majesty has regretfully decided that she will no longer travel to Glasgow to attend the evening reception of Cop26 on Monday, November 1.
"Her Majesty is disappointed not to attend the reception but will deliver an address to the assembled delegates via a recorded video message."
Queen Elizabeth was told to rest by doctors last week - but returned to work today - carrying out virtual audiences from Windsor Castle.
