Royal Family publicly wishes Prince Harry a happy birthday on social media
It was the first time in two years that royal accounts had wished him well
Prince Harry has been wished a happy birthday by the Royal Family for the first time in three years.
The Duke of Sussex is celebrating his 40th birthday on Sunday (September 15th), and is marking the occasion with his wife, Meghan and their children.
The Royal Family shared a photo of the royal, smiling off from the camera, with a heartfelt message, writing: "Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!"
Following the publishing of the post, the official account of the Prince and Princess of Wales reposted the original update, as well as their own message of congratulations.
The pair wrote in the post: "Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!"
Fans of the Royal Family remarked that this is the first time in three years that royal accounts had posted birthday wishes to Prince Harry.
The last time that the Royal Family social network posted birthday wishes to Prince Harry was in 2021, shortly after he stepped back from senior royal duties.
William and Kate's post to Harry also may come as a surprise, as the brothers currently are dealing with a strained relationship.
There has been no sign of the tense relations between the brothers thawing, as he continues to deal with his strained familial relationships - including with his father, King Charles.
Harry has since left the UK in order to start a new life away from the public eye with the Duchess of Sussex and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lillibet.
