11-year-old boy from London dies in crash involving a lorry on the A303 near Stonehenge

A man in his 40's and a 15-year-old boy have also been taken to hospital

An investigation's underway after an 11 year old from London died in a crash near Stonehenge in Wiltshire.

A black BMW was involved in a collision with a lorry that was parked in a layby.

An 11-year-old boy from London was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the car, a man in his 40's and a passenger who was 15 have been taken to Southampton Hospital. They are both also from London and have suffered potentially life changing injuries.

The driver of the lorry was not injured in the incident.

Inspector Will Ayres from Wiltshire Police's Road Policing Unit said:

“This is a tragic incident where a young boy has lost his life and two more people are in a serious condition in hospital.

“Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed anything to please get in touch with us.”

Police ask that any witnesses to the collision or anyone with dash cam footage contact the serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 289 of yesterday’s date.
