A builder from East Sussex has been sentenced to life behind bars, after a jury found him guilty of murdering two women six months apart near Hastings.

Mark Brown, of Squirrel Close, St Leonards, killed Leah Ware, from Hastings, and Alexandra Morgan, from Kent, at Little Bridge Farm in Westfield and will spend at least 40 in prison.

Brown was absent from the dock for his sentencing at Hove Crown Court.

The 41-year-old met both women, in their 30s, on an adult website but suspicions were raised after a missing persons report was filed for Ms Morgan in November 2021.

Police traced her last movements to a yard he was renting at the farm and later discovered her remains in an oil drum at a building site where he worked in Kent.

Officers then became aware of another woman, Leah Ware, who was in a relationship with Brown and had not been seen since the May, six months prior.

To this day her body has not been found but the remains of her dog were discovered at the farm.

Brown denied killing Ms Morgan – insisting she died in a fall at the site - and also claimed Ms Ware was still alive to his knowledge.

Despite pleading not guilty to both murders, he was convicted at Hove Crown Court late last year and sentenced today (January 13th) to xx behind bars.

Detectives described Brown as an ‘exceptionally dangerous individual’ who posed a ‘significant threat to women’.
