Bobbi-Anne McLeod: Police confirm body found in search is that of Plymouth teenager

It has been confirmed that a body found in the search for a missing Plymouth teenager is that of Bobbi-Anne McLeod.

Formal identification has now taken place following the discovery in the Bovisand area last week.

Police say the 18-year-old's family have been told and have asked for their privacy to be respected.

24-year-old Cody Ackland, from the Southway area of Plymouth, has been charged with murder.

He has been remanded in custody and is due back in court in January.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "24-year-old Cody Ackland from the Southway area of Plymouth appeared at Truro Crown Court on Monday 29th November where HHJ Judge Linford remanded him into custody.

"He is next due to appear at Plymouth Crown court on Monday 24th January.

"Formal identification has now been completed and it has been confirmed that the body located in Bovisand on 23rd November is that of 18-year-old Bobbi-Anne McLeod.

"Her family have been informed of this update and have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time.

"Whilst of course we understand the public interest in these updates, we remind the public that this is a live and active case and we ask members of the public not to speculate on social media."
