Wins on Saturday for Cliftonville, Linfield and Newry City

Jim Magilton made a winning start in the Cliftonville hot-seat in the Irish Premiership on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Glenavon.

Joe Gormley broke the deadlock just six minutes in, before Sean Stewart - on his debut - made it 2-0.

Gormley claimed his second of the afternoon, just before half-time to ensure the points would stay in north Belfast.

Linfield battled to a 3-2 win at Dungannon Swifts.

Chris McKee opened the scoring for the visitors to Stangmore Park on 42 minutes, but David Healy's side were still pegged back before the break - Kealan Dillon with a wonderful free-kick to make it 1-1.

Joel Cooper fired Linfield back in front seven minutes into the second half, before Kirk Millar made it 1-3 on 83 minutes.

Ben Gallagher pulled one back on 90 minutes, but the Swifts could not replicate another comeback following their performance against Larne.

Ten-man Newry City gained their first points under new boss Gary Boyle.
