Struggling Championship side, Dergview, are planning to pull off an Irish Cup giant-killing – by knocking out the holders in the sixth round.

The Castlederg outfit, who are battling relegation, take on Coleraine on Saturday.

And former Northern Ireland international Ivan Sproule (pictured above), who now manages the side, says they have no intentions of simply being there to make up the numbers.

The 37-year-old is a guest on our latest BetMcLean Football show, in association with NIFL, now available to view on Cool FM’s Facebook page – and to download as a podcast (see link below).

“We'll go down there as massive underdogs, but we'll go down there and approach the game in the right manner. You've got to go out there and express yourself as a footballer,” he said.

“Why can the players not go out there with the belief that they can get a result. We certainly can't just show up and think, 'what a nice day, and what a big crowd.'"

Coleraine midfielder Ben Doherty, who is also guesting this week, knows Dergview are no pushovers.

He was part of the Glenavon side that were beaten by them in the League Cup in August.

"We went out that night with completely the wrong mentality,” he said.

“That happens when you go out there and don't prepare properly. We need to prepare properly for Saturday, because it is a big threat."
