Nacho Novo’s career in the Irish League is over.

The ex-Rangers striker leaves after just one season with Glentoran.

It was a disappointing spell for the 38-year-old Spaniard who became a cult hero during a six-year stint at Ibrox.

But he was unable to capture some of that form which saw him net 73 goals in 255 games.

In March, Novo was handed a three-match ban for an attempted head-butt during a match with Crusaders.

Meanwhile, it was a poor season by Glentoran’s standards.

They finished ninth with just 46 points.
