The GAA have confirmed Kilmacud Crokes have appealed the decision to replay the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship Final.

On Tuesday, the GAA had ordered the final between the Dublin side and Derry's Glen Watty Grahams to be replayed - after Crokes were deemed to have broken the rules by having 17 players on the pitch in the final minutes of the decider.

Kilmacud won 1-11 to 1-9 at Croke Park on Sunday January 22nd.

But as Glen lined up to take a stoppage time '45, Kilmacud had two extra men on the field of play. While Paul Mannion wasn't affecting play as he made his way off the pitch, the issues centres around Dara Mullin, who had positioned himself on the goal line.

Glen were told they had to protest to the GAA if they had a complaint. They did that and then Crokes counter-protested.

That objection was thrown out by the Central Competitions Control Committee earlier this week, with a replay of the final ordered.

In a statement released this afternoon, the GAA said Kilmacud have lodged an appeal into that decision and that the Central Appeals Committee (CAC) would hear the appeal 'in the coming days'
