Joe Gormley scored a 90th minute winner as Cliftonville left it late to edge past Glentoran at Solitude.

The first half lacked a cutting edge, with Cliftonville's Rory Donnelly blazing over the bar when presented with the only real chance in the 28th minute.

Into the 2nd half, the game finally threatened to burst into life.

With 54 played, Glens defender Redman broke on the counter and fed the ball to Pepper, who was only able to force a good save from Brush.

A minute later, the Reds keeper followed it up with a quickfire double stop to deny McDaid inside the box.

With 77 minutes played, Gormley found himself one-on-one with Morris, but the keeper closed the distance quickly, and got a fingertip to the striker's lobbed effort to guide it away from goal.

The home side continued to create chances as the game wore on, as Gormley forced an 83rd minute save from Morris after driving into the box, only for Jay Donnelly to miscue on the follow-up.

Cliftonville finally turned their dominance into a goal in the 90th minute. Gormley collected a neat pass from Jay Donnelly, and slammed a low shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

It was too late for Glentoran to find a way back into the game, and their task was made all the more difficult when Redman was shown his second yellow card in the aftermath of the goal.
