A weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for a large swathe of Northern Ireland this evening with sub-zero temperatures and wintry showers forecast.
With temperatures expected to fall to -3°C in rural areas, wintry showers and icy stretches are likely to cause travel disruption.
According to the Met Office; "Snow showers are expected to continue through Wednesday night into Thursday morning, this will leave surfaces wet, leading to icy stretches developing on untreated surfaces. Showers will fall as a mixture of hail, sleet and snow. Some places are likely to see 1-3 cm of snow, mainly above 100 m, with 5-10 cm possible above 400 m."
Expect ice on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
