First SNOW could arrive over Northern Ireland hills tonight, Met Office says

After an unseasonably warm start to winter, forecasters are warning about a potential “shock to the system” tonight.
Temperatures are expected to dip with a blast of arctic air set to bring us our first taste of winter.
According to the Met Office we can expect showers overnight, some heavy with hail and sleet. Some snow will settle over high ground. A widespread frost with icy patches is likely, particularly in the north and west.
A yellow warning for ice has been issued with an overnight low of -3 °C forecast.
It's unlikely snow showers will settle at lower levels but with night time temperatures expected to fall below zero, drivers may have to brace themselves for frost in the morning - worth stocking up on de-icer.
Watch out for Icy stretches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
We have had it so good recently, it had to turn cold at some point.

This Evening and Tonight:
Showers overnight, some heavy with hail and sleet. Some snow will settle over high ground. A widespread frost with a icy patches likely, particularly in the north and west. Minimum temperature -3 °C.
Thursday:
A few wintery showers in the north and west at first, but these soon dying out to give a dry, cold and sunny day. Widespread frost developing after dark. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Rather and unsettled and cold on Friday and Saturday with rain or showers. Drier and brighter on Sunday.
