Woman and three children escape injury in Crumlin arson attack

The blaze broke out at a house in Ballydonaghy Meadows in the early hours of Friday morning.

The 35-year-old woman and her three children aged 15,11 and six fled the house after the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Dunny McCubbin has appealed for witnesses:

“While no-one was injured during this incident, there could have been serious consequences. Extensive damage was caused to the door of the property.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area who can assist with the investigation to contact officers in Antrim and Newtownabbey on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 106 of 19/05/17 or alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
