Victim suffers puncture wounds in west Belfast attack

A man has been the victim of a west Belfast assault.

Around 2 o'clock this morning it was reported the man in his 20s was walking in a park in the Falls Road area when he was assaulted.

He sustained puncture wounds to his head, neck and leg.

The man was taken to hospital for his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing for information.
