A car has rammed three police vehicles in Belfast.

Just after half past four this morning, PSNI officers were on patrol in the Upper Lisburn Road area when they signalled for an Audi A4 car which had earlier been spotted driving erratically to stop.

However the driver made off, and a pursuit began.

As the vehicle travelled into the city centre, Armed Response Unit officers positioned their vehicles at the Grosvenor Road /Fisherwick Place junction, to stop the Audi.

Two men - aged 54 and 30 - have been arrested.
