The visit forms part of a wider UK trip ahead of the general election next month.

Social media footage showed Theresa May making her way through crowds shortly before 1pm to arrive at the WI pavilion.

The Prime Minister then perused the wares in the food tent, before meeting former First Minister Arlene Foster and her son Ben, whom she shook hands with.

She was accompanied by the Secretary of State James Brokenshire and four of the Conservative Party's seven candidates in the general election.

It comes as Northern Ireland's biggest agricultural show in Balmoral Park, extended its show to a Saturday for the first time in decades.
