Several people injured during stabbing attacks

Two people have been hospitalized following stabbing incidents in the north west.

A 22 year old man was stabbed in the shoulder at a house in St Brechans Park in Londonderry at around 1am on Sunday.

A 27 year old woman has been arrested.

Anyone who can assist the police investigation is asked to contact Strand Road CID on 101, quoting reference 115 22/12/19.

Meanwhile, A man was attacked with a knife during an altercation in Strabane.

The victim in his 20's approach a flat in Main Street - when another man inside opened the door and stabbed him in the leg at around 2am on Sunday. The man was taken to hospital for his injury.

A 50 year old has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Detective Sergeant Burns said: “We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 253 22/12/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
