Seven rescued from islands off Strangford Lough
Lifeboat crew have rescued seven people after their boat began experiencing electrical problems in waters in county Down.
Emergency services were called to both Salt and Green Island after 11 on Wednesday morning, after a cabin cruiser developed an electrical fault.
The casualties were taken to safety in Killyleagh around 11.22am by the rescue crew.
Brian Bailie, Lifeboat Operations Manager with Portaferry RNLI said:
"Once again all the hard work and hours invested in training has paid off with a happy ending to today's rescue," he said.
He added: "With the start of the good weather and more and more craft taking to the water, it is increasingly important that everyone respects the water and makes all the necessary checks before going out."
