This is heartbreaking

Author: Emma DicksonPublished 7th Oct 2021

A seal was spotted on the shore of Belfast Lough yesterday, after a large drinks can got stuck in its lip.

A team of volunteers and the Exploris Seal Sanctuary visited the area to assist the animal in distress, but the seal has since slipped back out in open water.w

With the can securely stuck to the seal's lower lip, it's in danger of drowning or eventually starving.

The last sighting was at the mouth of the Connswater River, along Airport Road and Queen's lsland.
