Nearly 40 firefighters dealing with building fire in Newtownards

Almost 40 firefighters are currently dealing with an ongoing building fire on at the Lamon Estates Business Park in Newtownards.

A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said crews were tasked to the scene from around 8.50am and that a command support unit from Lisburn is also at the scene.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Spokesperson said: “NIFRS were called to reports of a fire in a building at Befab Ltd, Glen Road, Comber at 08:50 on Sunday 2nd October 2022. There are currently 5 Fire Appliances from Comber, Carryduff, Newtownards, Knock, Whitla, a Command Support Unit from Lisburn, an Aerial Appliance from Springfield, 39 Fire-fighters, 3 Officers and the Fire-Fighter Emergency Support Service (FESS) in attendance. The incident is currently ongoing.”
