Mother of Lyra McKee dies weeks before anniversary of daughter's murder
It’s understood her health began to deteriorate after her daughter’s killing

The mother of Lyra McKee has died just weeks before the first anniversary of her daughter's murder.
Journalist Lyra was shot dead during a night of rioting in the Creggan area of Londonderry last April.
The 29-year-old had been the main carer for her disabled mum Joan.
It’s understood her health began to deteriorate after her daughter’s killing.
Joan had recently been a patient at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast – where she lost a phone Lyra had bought her for Christmas.
Family and friends say she passed away peacefully yesterday.
